Chicago restaurants are the epitome of cultural diversity. Everything from cannolis to filet mignon is available on a variety of Chicago restaurant menus. The windy city offers Italian restaurants, Greek restaurants, Chinese restaurants, and steak restaurants by popular demand. Hip Chicago restaurants can be found within walking distance from various train stations and famous Chicago landmarks.

The most famous of the Chicago restaurants has to be the Italian restaurants. Everything from the famous deep-dish pizza to the classic fettuccine alfredo can be found in Chicago restaurants. Chicago restaurants are famous for two reasons. First, the food is incredible. Second, celebrity sightings are frequent within some restaurants.

Spiaggia is the place for good, traditional Italian food. The upscale café offers innovative appetizers and entrees in an intimate setting. This is not a place for the faux Italian food lover, only serious inquiries need apply. The prices are fairly high, and the entire menu is in Italian. So brush up on those foreign language books and be ready to put down some serious cash. Although it may be more expensive than other Chicago restaurants, it's worth it.

Spiaggia's chef received the Best Chef: Midwest award in 2005 and an award for Best Restaurant in 2006. However, fame and prestige come at a price. The appetizers run between $12 and $14 and include  salads and Tuscan bean soup on the menu. Entrees run between $16 and $28 and include slow roasted pork and wood roasted rainbow trout. The restaurant is open for lunch between 11:30 am – 2:30 pm and re-opens to serve dinner from 5:30 pm – 9:30 pm, Monday through Thursday. It is open until 10:30 pm on Friday and Saturday.

The food may be excellent at Spiaggia's but there's nothing like spotting a celebrity. Out of all the Italian Chicago restaurants, a celebrity is most likely to be spotted at the  The Rosebud. Celebrities like Mel Gibson, Conan O'Brien, and John Cusack have all been seen enjoying a plate at The Rosebud, which is located on North Dearborn in Chicago. The elegantly lit restaurant creates an unforgettable atmosphere and a dining experience. Appetizers run from $7- $13 and include signature creations like the famous fish salad.. Entrees run from $7-$14 and include Chicken Vesuvio and Linguine with clams.

Other popular dining options are the Chicago restaurants located downtown. These are the hot spots to hit when cruising down Michigan Avenue or Lake Shore Drive. No matter what the craving is, it can be satisfied downtown at a range of different restaurants. Some of the most famous Chicago restaurants located in and around the loop are:

• The Cheesecake Factory- mainly popular because of its location on Michigan Avenue by the Water Tower. Prices range from $10-$30.
• Giordano's- also popular because of its location off of Michigan Avenue. Also, deep dish pizza is what every tourist seems to crave. Prices are little less expensive than other restaurants with a meal costing between $8-$20.
• Moto- An Asian/Japanese restaurant on Fulton Market that offers five and 10 course meals.
• Blackbird- located on west Randolph Street, it provides exceptional American cuisine for $25-$35.

The bustle of downtown Chicago restaurants might be too much for some, so other popular cuisine options are Greek, Chinese, or steak. These Chicago restaurant menus feature classic and creative options for any dining situation. Some of the most popular Chicago restaurants that feature Greek, Chinese, and steak options are:

• Barba Yianni Grecian Taverna- a traditional Greek restaurant located on N. Lincoln Avenue. The brightly colored establishment offers entrees for $8-$15.
• Parthenon- the oldest restaurant in Greektown. Is famous for bringing gyros to Chicago and for their huge portions. Entrees between $8-$15. If extra hungry, suckling pig or lambs head can be ordered (feeds 12).
• Cantonesia- located in old school Chinatown on Cermak. This classic Chinese restaurant offers Mandarin and Cantonese food from $8-$15.
• China Café- located in Chinatown on S. Wentworth. This traditional restaurant offers more authentic Chinese cuisine like fried intestine and salted fish. Meals run between $10-$15.
• Beef and Brandy- located in the same spot on State Street for 35 years and operates on three different levels. Meals cost between $8-$15.
• Catch 35- offers both steak and seafood daily and is located on W. Wacker Drive. Meals range from $15-$35.

This is just an example of the different kinds of food available at Chicago restaurants. No matter the location-- downtown, Chinatown, Greektown, Boystown--there are always going to be Chicago restaurants to feed the tourist and the busy Chicagoan. And if you're looking for something exciting and new to do, explore Chicago and all of the food it has to offer. It surely won't disappoint.
